Colombia’s iconic Tall Ship ‘ARC Gloria’ returns to London

As part of its 2015 goodwill tour of the world, the Colombian Navy’s three-masted training ship will visit London’s Thames Quay, West India Dock from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September 2015.

The ‘ARC Gloria’, one of the biggest tall ships in the world still in service, left its home port of Cartagena, Colombia, on 26 June and has since visited ports in Portugal, Germany, Holland. During her four-day stay in London the ‘ARC Gloria’ will be open to the public for free tours onboard.

The ship has a crew of 150, including 67 final-year cadets from the Colombian Naval Academy and one dog “Black Pearl” the sailing black Labrador and the flagship’s mascot.

On Thursday 3 September 2015, the ‘ARC Gloria’ will arrive to Thames Quay, West India Dock, London, E14 9SG at 0630hrs where she will be welcomed by the Ambassador of Colombia to the UK, HE Mr Néstor Osorio and the Colombian community living in London.

The ship will be open for public FREE tours.
