We are pleased to announce our next talk, titled ‘Colombia and United Kingdom: Celebrating 200 years of shared history’. The Embassy of Colombia to the United Kingdom and the Anglo-Colombian Society are pleased to invite you to the academic dialogue titled “Colombia and United Kingdom: Celebrating 200 years of shared history”, in the framework of the commemoration of the bicentenary of diplomatic relations between both countries. A panel of experts will explore the on-going Anglo-Colombian relations since the early days as an independent republic to modern times highlighting key aspects of the historical memory and the new wave of collaborations and partnerships in the fields of culture, politics and science. Our panel of experts is composed of the following historians and academics:
- Anthony McFarlane, Emeritus Professor of History – University of Warwick.
- Ana Maria Otero-Cleves, Professor of Latin American History – University of York.
- Matthew Brown, Professor of Latin American History – University of Bristol.
- Oscar Guardiola-Rivera, Professor of Human Rights and Political Philosophy – School of Law in Birbeck, University of London.
