The ACS invites you to hear about the life and work of Antonio Caro, probably Colombia’s most important conceptual artist.

About the event

Antonio Caro is perhaps the most important Colombian conceptual artist. He worked and produced art for over 50 years, breaking boundaries and limits. Some call him the father of Colombian conceptual art.

About the speaker

Camilo Vásquez-Caro, Director of the Humanities and Languages Department at Universidad Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito. Vásquez-Caro holds a BA in History from Universidad de los Andes and a MA in History and an MA in Cultural Studies from the same university. He has worked in education for 20 years. Antonio Caro was his uncle. Currently, Vásquez-Caro is also in charge of Antonio Caro’s legacy and works closely with Galería Casas Riegner in Bogotá to preserve his work and legacy.
